Remember The Alamo

Travel Day

Katherine and I enjoyed lunch and a beer on the Riverwalk, and avoided the rain while we were at it.

Other folks and in other places did not dodge the drops, but it's still a pretty cool place.

That belly of mine is getting larger all the time. On the other hand, it keeps me alive, so they tell me. And the Riverwalk is still fun, regardless.

After lunch on the Riverwalk, we headed over to the Alamo. This is the front of the mission church, the historic entrance to this foundation of Texas history.

The live oak inside the Alamo grounds is over 100 years old, with branches spreading some 40 feet and a base that is almost 10 foot around.

After the Alamo, we wandered back along the Riverwalk on our way to our hotel.
