Austin, TX, Sort Of

Travel Day

• Dallas, TX to Austin, TX via I-35E and I-35
• Austin, TX to Bastrop, TX via SR 71

As we headed out from Dallas, the sky was threatening rain with dark and overcast.

Heading south from Dallas, the countryside looks very much like Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, and Saskatchewan... only with green covering for St. Patrick's Day.

This greeted us as we headed into Waco, TX. I think of it as overpass - Texas style.

Yep, we are headed to Austin. Not Houston, not San Antonio, at least not today.

Tomorrow we will visit the State Capitol building in downtown Austin, TX.
