A Quiet Drive Down The Dempster

Travel Day

  • Eagle Plains, YT to Dawson City, YT via The Dempster Highway and The Klondike Highway
Shortly after leaving Eagle Plains, we met this fellow. He was beside the road but took off into the tundra once we showed up.

We stopped at Ogilvie Ridge again. It is one of the best views on the highway.

Unfortunately the view today was totally obscured by smoke from the many forest fires in the region today.

Along side the road, Mom and the kids were hanging around looking for good pebbles and such.

Once again into Tombstone Territorial Park.

The mountains here are high and cold, and still very impressive.

When you get to the end of the Dempster, you have to go right or left. We turned right.

When we got back to Dawson City, Katherine went exploring while I rested. She found a gold panning contest!

And she found a local farmer's market.
